The second contest of the Hawaiian Surfing Federation Kaua’i and YMCA has been rescheduled for Saturday and Sunday, Dec. 13-14, with alternate dates of Dec. 20-21.
The contest, sponsored by Hanalei Surf Company and Backdoor, will still take place at Pine Trees, Hanalei Bay, starting at 8 a.m., with bodyboarders competing first.
Divisions for bodyboarding are boys and juniors. Divisions for surfing are menehune, boys, junior men, open men, girls, women and 4-A men. For updates, call the HSF hotline at 338-1952.
Waimea High School seeking boys tennis coach
The Waimea High School athletic department is accepting applications for a boys’ tennis coach for the 2004 KIF tennis season.

Kodama named November’s WAC golfer of the month
Hawai’i’s Matt Kodama has been named the Western Athletic Conference men’s golfer of the month for November, it was reported in Denver Monday morning.
Kodama, a University of Hawai’i senior from Las Vegas, Nev., finished ninth at the UH/Turtle Bay Intercollegiate, helping Hawai’i to a share of the tournament title. He finished in the top 10 for the fifth time in five tournaments this season.
Kodama posts a team-best 70.7 stroke average and ranks third in the nation in subpar stroke round, according to GolfStat, a company that keeps statistics for college and junior golfing programs. There were no additional men’s nominees and no women nominees for the month of November, according to the WAC.
