Regarding the Homelessness, Baptiste states… “I’ve spent many a sleepless night worrying about what to do…”
Perhaps he has come face to face with a family member who is now an ‘Environmental Refugee’ due to his support and facilitation of DEVELOPMENT and MILITARY proliferation spurred by greed.
Not only has he WHITEWASHED the reason for so many local people being homeless/houseless, he is disguising his real concern; how it affects the TOURISTS and their use of the parks.
This brings us to another WHITEWASH: ICE. The REAL and ONLY reason for the outrageous explusion from a dignified life for local people; that being NOwhere to live and the Ice Epidemic is directly proportionate to the rise in Adverse Development and Military Occupation. The Adverse Development is dirty, under the table, pre-approved reckless abuse of this island and all the islands that have been overdeveloped before Kauai. The Military, has just recently introduced another addictive substance (WORSE than ice), never before heard of – to this little island.
I see the WHITEWASH list of excuses and it really nauseates me. Joann Yukimura’s solution to Ice: “Take your child to a movie.” Well, what if you’re broke, no car and hungry? What did the Clueless Marie Antoinette say?
So, I guess if you’ve got an ‘end ice’ bumper sticker you’ve done your part? Wrong. That is a COP OUT.
Get loud. Speak out. Stop letting this county make fools out of you and me and demand a MORATORIUM ON DEVELOPMENT.
