HANAPEPE — Taran “TT” Tani galloped for 68 yards in the fourth quarter to keep the Lihu‘e Patriots JPW from being blanked as the Koloa Packers JPW wrapped up the 2003 Kaua‘i Pop Warner season with a 26-6 victory at Hanapepe Stadium.
Cameron “Little T” Twiggs answered the Tani score with a 60-yard run to paydirt to ice the victory that came with Mikey Blackstad opening the scorebooks on a 4-yard plunge with the point-after effort good by Kylee Rapacon.
Kalei Fujita reaped a 25-yard TD with Blackstad making good on the point-after for the 14-0 bulge that was added to in the third frame as Blackstad lunged for two yards.
Paleku Yasay scored two TDs as the Lihu‘e Patriots PeeWees blanked the Koloa Rams 14-0.
Yasay scrambled for 48 yards on the first score followed by a 19-yarder with Keala Lovell going one-for-two in the point-after attempt.
Lihu‘e Patriots’ Midget Andrew Renaud hit Aaron Adachi with just 12 second remaining in their game to ice a 40-14 win over the Koloa Raiders.
Renaud passed for three touchdowns, the first to Pono Matthews for 33 yards followed by his second quarter hit to Johnathan Gebauer, and the final one to Adachi.
Brendon Young opened the scorebooks with a 48-yard scoring scamper with Abndres Cadiente scooping up a kickoff ball for a special teams score.
Koloa broke into the scoring column in the third period as Treston Sagucio scored with 5:23 showing.
Kelii Ruiz scored the last Koloa touchdown.
The Northshore Na Ali‘i picked up their second win of the season by breaking into the scorebooks with just 5:11 left in the game as Darren Taylor reaped a 61-yard scoring run to break a 12-0 Kapa‘a Junior Warriors’ lead.
Taylor pulled in his second TD on a pass from Trenton Camat to deadlock the contest at 12-12.
Northshore QB Devin Fitzpatrick kept the ball on the point-after for the 13-12 win.
Kapa‘a opened the contest on two quick scores, Dalton Thomas picking up the first score followed by B.J Aiwohi getting into the end zone.
Stetson Igne opened the Hanapepe Colts JPW on a scoring note followed by a 64-yard run by Torrey Santiago as the Hanapepe Colts JPW shut down the Kekaha Panthers 31-7.
Hanapepe QB Micah Rita hit Santiago for a 51-yard scoring pass in the second quarter, and Mikeo Rita pushed the halftime lead to 25-0 on a 10-yard scoring run with 3:20 showing in the half.
The Panthers answered in the third quarter as Kele Hanohano scored and followed through on his own point-after attempt.
Keoni Ana iced the Hanapepe win on a one-yard scoring plunge to ice the 31-7 win.
Cole Parongao scored two TD’s before the game had to be called due to injuries to the Kekaha Seahawks resulting in the team not having enough players to continue the game.
Parongao broke the scorebooks with less than a minute left in the half followed by a early third quarter score before the game was called based on Pop Warner rules.
A defensive slugfest resulted in the Kekaha Chargers blanking the Hanapepe Colts as the Chargers’ defense led by Calsen Agrade, Ansen Achuara, Kaiwi Machado, and Christopher Newcomb kept Hanapepe’s Alan-Michael Gaspar out of the end zone while Kai Reyes reaped a two-yard score early for the 8-0 win.
