Williams to serve as acting chief

Theodore Williams, Kaua‘i Fire Department’s Administrative Battalion Chief, was named Acting Fire Chief last week, said county spokeswoman Cyndi Mei Ozaki.

Born, raised, and still living in Anahola, Williams has been with the Kaua’i Fire Department for 26 years. He is married with two children.

Williams takes over for Charlie Hiramoto, who retired as the fire chief after 30 years in KFD on September 30.

The Mayor has not yet named a new fire chief, said Ozaki.
