For the past 15 years, Kaua‘i resident Debra Jason has been taking her love of website and direct marketing communications in “The Write Direction.”
Now, she intends on blending a second business endeavor (real estate) with her writing business in order to further offer customers the best possible service.
Jason is the owner of The Write Direction, a company tailored toward “writing personal, benefit and results-oriented Web and direct marketing promotions.”
For over 14 years, Jason has been helping clients with brochures, catalogs, direct mail packages, newsletters and websites.
“My only goal was to make it through the first three years,” said Jason.
With more than 19 years of experience in the direct marketing/advertising industry, freelance copywriter and Web marketing consultant, Jason has offered national and international service for many customers.
“What else can I do to make use of my skills,” she said. “I love to interact with people.
“The reason I got into that (marketing and communications) is because I could see the results from my efforts. The main thing for me is that my clients know their products better than I do.
“But I can market or write it better then they could.”
Jason only recently (1 1/2 years ago) moved to the island full-time.
Before that, she was a part-time resident here while running her communications and marketing business.
Recently, Jason acquired a real estate license (September of 2003) and was hired on at Vision Properties as a Real Estate Associate.
“I felt it was time to shift gears,” said Jason.
She said the main reason for acquiring the license was to challenge herself.
“After 15 years with the writing business, I decided that I needed a new challenge,” she said. “But I wanted to go in new a direction that wasn’t that far out of the box. Both of these businesses are complementary. But I am excited about the challenge and feel that this (real estate) will certainly push me.
“I want to make sure that customers get what they want. My goal is to establish a really good relationship with my clients. I am really customer-service oriented.”
