Michael Jason Gregg, a 31-year-old Kapa‘a man accused by the Kaua‘i Police Department of causing a motor-vehicle accident July 28 that resulted in serious injuries to a family visiting from Colorado, was indicted September 15 on a slew of new charges. He was arraigned October 14, and pleaded not guilty to all charges.
Gregg was indicted in District Court September 15 for promoting a dangerous drug in the second degree (possession of more than one-eighth ounce of methamphetamine); use of or possession with intent to use drug paraphernalia; one count of promoting a detrimental drug in the third degree (possession of any amount of marijuana); two counts of first-degree negligent injury (causing serious bodily injury by operating a motor vehicle in a negligent manner); and one count of second-degree negligent injury (causing substantial bodily injury).
Gregg is free on $5,150 bail. The case is set to go to trial on December 1.
Meanwhile, Gregg is awaiting arraignment on October 23 on family abuse, kidnapping, and second-degree reckless endangerment charges.
