Irons, Kennelly still waiting for surf

Reigning world champion Andy Irons of Kaua‘i will face local French wildcard Frederick Robin when the Quiksilver Pro France resumes.

The $250,000 World Championship Tournament was put on a standby for today after the meet was postponed Tuesday due to the return of stormy conditions.

Following the Irons/Robin heat, number two Joel Parkinson of the Gold Coast, Australia meets another French wildcard Patrick Beven.

1999 world champion Mark Occhilupo is up against Phil MacDonald in an all-Australian duel before six-time world champ Kelly Slater of Florida is challenged by wildcard Troy Brooks of Australia.

The Roxy Pro France was also postponed due to stormy conditions, and when Round three opens, Megan Abubo of Hawai‘i will be opening against Jacqueline Silva of Brazil.

Rochelle Ballard will be going up against Australian Lynette Mackenzie followed by Keala Kennelly taking on Emmanuelle Joly of France.
