Surf meets postponed, again
The Quiksilver Pro France and Roxy Pro France were postponed today due to stormy surf.
Messy 2 – 3 foot surf was an offer at La Gravier, with strong onshore winds and rain. Higher tides ultimately stopped the Foster’s Expression Sessions from starting.
Despite poor conditions, Australian wildcard Troy Brooks and Luke Stedman along with French star Jeremy Flores took to the water assisted by Jet Skis piloted by three-time ASP world masters champion Gary Elkerton with some dramatic aerial attempts unfolding.
The Evian Air Show has $10,000 up for grabs with the finals already consisting of the current ratings top four – Andy Irons, Kelly Slater, Taj Burrow and Joel Parkinson.
Irons will take on Tiago Pires of Portugal in the first heat of Round Two.
Kaua‘i rodeo season starts today
The Kaua‘i Keiki and High School Rodeo Association’s first rodeo of the 2003 – 04 season starts at 9 a.m. today at CJM Country Stables in Po‘ipu.
