Hawaiian Airlines, Inc. announced on Tuesday the appointment of travel and sales executive Gordon P. Locke to the position of Senior Vice President of Marketing and Sales with responsibility for all of the airline’s marketing and sales activities.
“Hawaiian Airlines has one of the strongest products in the business right now, with industry reliability and service, not to mention brand identity with the world’s greatest destination,” said Locke. “I’m excited to be joining Hawaiian at a time of great opportunity to expand the business and strengthen its position as the world’s leading carrier to and throughout Hawaii.”
Those responsibilities include product development, flight scheduling, pricing, reservations, advertising, partnerships, affinity programs, and field and online sales.
Locke comes to Hawaiian Airlines having served as vice president of marketing and enterprise development at Rosenbluth International, the fourth largest global travel company.
At that company, Locke had responsibilities in global marketing, e-commerce strategy and sales operations.
“Gordon is a high-energy marketer who has a global perspective, technology expertise and proven sales leadership with multiple travel and hospitality companies who will bring new creativity, focus and drive to Hawaiian’s marketing and sales efforts,” said Hawaii’s President and Chief Operating Officer Mark Dunkerley.
Locke began his career in the hospitality and travel industry in 1986 with the Potomac Hotel Group, serving as Director of Sales and Marketing for this 16-property mid-Atlantic region hotel chain.
In 1988, he joined The Ritz-Carlton Hotel Company as Sales Director, Business Markets before moving on to sales and marketing positions with other organizations.
Hawaii Airlines is the largest provider of passenger air service within Hawaii and the second largest provider between Hawaii and the mainland.
