The Kauai Times TV Magazine is changing format beginning with the Sunday, August 31 issue.
The new grid appearing in the weekly TV guide now lists 50 cable channels ranging in number from 2 through 77.
The new grid is also aligned with Oceanic Time Warner Cable’s new statewide lineup of cable stations. Oceanic is making station numbers on each island the same. In the past, Kauaians traveling to O‘ahu, Maui and the Big Island would find the lineup of cable stations numbered differently on each island; now they are all the same.
Oceanic’s new alignment begins on Wednesday, September 3. However, the new grid appearing in The Kauai Times TV Magazine lists stations according to the new lineup beginning on Sunday, August 31. This was done due to technical considerations in creating a week’s worth of TV listings. The times of shows are correct in the grids beginning on Sunday, but the station number will be incorrect until the new Oceanic numbers go into effect on cable TV on Wednesday, September 3.
The daily TV listings are being left out of the Monday and Tuesday issues of The Garden Island, as they would not be accurate. Within two weeks, the KVIC channel lineup will be listed.
