Whitegon perfect at Hawaiian Open

Defending U.S. Professional Women’s Longboard Champion Julie Whitegon (San Diego, CA) surfed to perfection in the women’s division of the $26,000 Converse Hawaiian Open today, becoming the only woman to post a perfect 10 point score in the event so far. Whitegon is through to the semi-finals and back on track to defend her title.

The Converse Hawaiian Open is the second of three events for both men and women that make up the U.S. Professional Longboard Championships. Whitegon got off to a poor start in Florida, in April, but re-ignited her hopes today, assisted further by the elimination of current series leader Summer Romero in the first round.
