Anuenue/Hawaiian takes Na Pali

Anuenue/Hawaiian, finishing almost 15 minutes ahead of the next canoe at 4:20:29, captured the Open and Overall Na Pali Challenge that was held on August 9.

Racers launched from Hanalei, traversed the waters skirting Na Pali coastline before landing in Kekaha.

Second place overall was Niumalu who clocked in at 4:35:11, just three minutes ahead of another Niumalu crew who took third at 4:38:55.

Kaiola filled in the fourth Open berth at 4:42:20.

The first Masters crew was fifth overall to finish as Niumalu clocked in at 4:48:54 with Puuwai finishing at 5:19:09.

Hanalei had the sole Na Opio team who came in 16th overall with a time of 5:21:52.

Nineteen teams took part in the event.
