PO‘IPU — Moku Blackstad took home first place with a time of 24.96 in the Poo Wai U event at the 4th annual Koloa Plantation Days rodeo.
Craig Hamilton was second, Albert Soares was third and Shane Melina was fourth in the Poo Wai U class.
In the Wahine Barrels race, Tami Yamamoto was first with a time of 17.93.
Fern White was second, Corinna Vasconcelles was third and Wendy Tannery was fourth.
Rosanne Shimogawa clocked in a 3.98 for first place in the Wahine Steer Undecorating classification.
Hoolai Ludington-Braun was second followed by Tannery and Vasconcelles.
The team of Leland Nishek and Randall Soares was tops in the Open Roping division with an average score of 20.21 on two go’s.
Nishek and Jimmy Miranda were second while Hamilton and Pat Brun Jr. were third and Adam Brun and Tom Aiu were fourth.
James Rapozo and Stuart Wellington won with an average score of 19.14 seconds on two go’s to claim the title in the No. 5 Roping division.
Aiu and Wellington were second followed by Randall Soares and Pat DeBusca and then Kristen Sugai and Wellington.
In the 40-year old Century roping division, Hamilton and Aiu were first at 28.32 seconds while Nishek and DeBusca were second and Joey Lorenzo and Harold Aiu were third.
In double mugging, Brun Jr. and Randall Soares were tops at 40.42 seconds while Miranda and Adrian Puu were second.
