Young Brothers gives grant to KCC

For a third consecutive year, Young Brothers Community Advisory Board has presented a grant to Kauai Community College.

This year, the college’s Nursing Department is the recipient of a $1,000 grant.

During a tour of the new KCC Wellness Center, KCC provost Peggy Cha said the funds will be used to help subsidize the cost of vaccines and medications for needy, uninsured students.

There are currently no programs to help subsidize the adult students’ vaccinations which are required as part of the registration process for newly enrolled students to enter and remain at KCC.

The KCC Wellness Center serves the community by providing no cost health care to students at KCC as well as special at-risk groups in the community.

The YB Community Advisory Board members include Wanda Shibata, Millie Wellington, Jim McDowell and Donald Lindsey.
