A Memorial Mass will be held at St. Raphael’s Catholic Church in Koloa, Saturday, July 5 at 10 a.m., for Eva Vicente/Vallies DelGandio, who died July 5, 2002, in South Carolina at the age of 80. A sprinkling of her ashes will follow.
Born April 24, 1922, on Kauai, she was the daughter of Mariano and Mary Enos Vicente. During World War II, she worked at Pearl Harbor repairing Navy ships, moved to New York in 1949, returned to Kauai upon retirement until August 2001 when she moved to St. Elizabeth’s Place in Pawleys Island, S.C.
She is survived by three sons, Allen R. DelGandio of Surfside Beach, SC; Dennis DelGandio of Staten Island, N.Y.; Gerald DelGandio of Berkeley Springs, W.V., one brother John Vicente of Bedford, TX, four sisters Mabel Westberry of Jesup, GA., Rose Morales of Pearl City, HI; Maggie Freitas of Koloa, Kauai; Sophie Anderson of Chico, Calif., eight grandchildren and eight-greatgrandchildren.
She was predeceased by an infant son, Michael DelGandio, two sisters, Mary Rodrigues and Virginia Lane, and three brothers Larry Vicente, Victor Vallies and Willie Vallies.
Mart Manuel Kalulukukui Mullins, of Long Beach, Calif., died June 22, 2003, at the age of 28.
Born March 27, 1975 , in Washington State, he was raised in Hawaii sharing his time between Oahu and Kauai.
He is survived by his family: wife, Jennifer Mullins; mother, Kainoa Kaulukukui; father, Michael M. Mullins; maternal grandparents, May L. Wright and Glenn K. Kaulukukui Sr.; brother Brent Mullins; sisters, Melissa and Danielle Nicole Mullins and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
Friends and family will gather in celebration of Mart’s life on Saturday, July 5, 2003, at Kealia Beach. Visitation with the family is set for 3 p.m. with services and scattering of his ashes to follow.
