Futurist Ed Barlow will speak on the impact of global trends on Kaua‘i’s workforce this Tuesday, June 17, from 8:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at the Radisson Kauai Beach Resort near Hanama‘ulu.

Barlow’s talk is a presentation of the Kaua‘i Chamber of Commerce and Kauai Workforce Investment Board.
Creating a competitive economy for Hawai‘i is Barlow’s topic Tuesday, aimed at assisting employers, educators and those involved in economic development to understand the global and local changes predicted for the workforce in the 21st century.
He will focus on creating ways to generate a competitive talent pool, and creating an understanding of what it takes to have a competitive, diversified economy.
President of Creating the Future, Inc., specializing in trend-spotting and strategic-planning facilitation, Barlow is one of the nation’s top futurists, and explores global economic, social, and technological trends anticipated to affect industries, organizations and professions in the 21st century.
His professional experience includes executive positions in healthcare, business, higher education, and with a Washington D.C.-based, management-consulting firm.
