Kanichi Funamura, Tomeichi Shiraki


Kanichi Funamura

Kanichi Funamura of Koloa died at home on Mar. 27, 2003 at the age of 91.

Born in Kukuiula, on Jan. 8, 1912, he was a retired custodian with Koloa School.

He is survived by wife, Ayako; son, Harry Funamura of Kapa’a; two grandchildren; sister, Francis (Willy) Kanekiyo of Hanapepe; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Services were private.

Arrangements were handled by Garden Island Mortuary, Ltd.


Tomeichi Shiraki

Tomeichi “Tommy” Shiraki of Koloa died at Wilcox Memorial Hospital on Mar. 27, 2003 at the age of 83.

Born in Koloa on May 20, 1919, he was a retired carpenter with the Dept. of Land and Natural Resources.

He is survived by brother, Yukimasa Shiraki of Honolulu; two sisters, Humiko Miyazaki of California, and Lillian (Yuso) Ishida of Hanapepe; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Services were private.

Arrangements were handled by Garden Island Mortuary, Ltd.
