Duo provides food for guests
Duke’s Canoe Club Kaua’i teamed up with the National Scholastic Surf Association, providing food for participants and guests, as the NSSA Hawai’i Conference concluded its Open/Explorer Season schedule with a surf meet at Pinetrees on Kaua’i.
With over 2,000 active members, the NSSA is the highest profile amateur competitive surfing association in the United States. The organization is divided into five geographic regions, including the Hawai’i conference, Southwest conference in California, and the east coast conferences such as Northeast, Southeast and Southeast/North conferences.
With a special emphasis on student surfers, the NSSA membership is open to anyone who wants to surf competitively as an amateur. All competitors receive scholarship applications for post-high school education and training.
“We commend NSSA’s mission to embrace student athletes,” said Duke’s Canoe Club Kaua’i General Manager Jaime Arreola. “We are always pleased to team up with organizations, such as NSSA, that benefit the future of our youth.”
Duke’s Kaua’i is located beachfront at the Kaua’i Marriott Resort, and is a tribute to legendary waterman, Duke Kahana/moku. Dinner is served in the upstairs dining room from 5 to 10 p.m.
