Tom Silva, Sr.
Thomas Silva, Sr. of Hanapepe, died on Feb. 5, 2003, at UCLA Medical Center at the age of 67.
A construction heavy equipment operator, he was born on Aug. 6, 1935.
He is survived by his daughter: Brenda (Mark) Morando of Lawai, sons: Thomas (Stephine) Silva, Jr. of Hanapepe, Antonia Elmendro Silva of Honolulu, Edward Robert Silva of Alaska, and John timothy Silva of Hawai’i.
Also surviving are sisters: Helen S. Obrero of Puhi and Loretta Silva (William) Krueger of Puhi.
There are five grandchildren. There are numerous aunties, uncles, nieces and cousins.
Memorial services will be on Saturday, Feb. 15, at the Old Koloa Church at 12:30 p.m.
The family requests Aloha attire and that flowers be omitted.

Johnette Quel
Johnette Kaleo Quel of Honolulu, O’ahu, died on Feb. 3, 2003 at Saint Francis Medical Center of Hawai’i, at the age of 30.
Born in Honolulu, on Nov. 2, 1972, she was an accountant for Robert’s Hawaii.
Preceded in death by her parents, John Billianor and Marie Tumbaga, she is survived by her husband, Jeff Quel; son, Justice Quel; three daughters, Jazzelle, Jazzlyn and Jazzmine Billianor-Pinero; two sisters, Susan and Lucille Billianor; mother-in-law, Clementine Quel, father-in-law, Pat Quel; sisters-in-law, Cassity, Casey and Chalsie Quel; brother-in-law, Jess Quel.
Friends may visit with the family on Friday, Feb. 14, 2003, at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church in Ewa Beach, O’ahu. Casual attire is suggested.
Arrangements are being handled by Moanalua Mortuary.
Leona Cablayan
Leona Cablayan of Makaweli, died at her residence on Feb. 4, 2003, at the age of 94.
Born in the Philippines on April 8, 1908, she was a homemaker.
She is survived by two daughters: Marina (Telesforo) Galiza of Makaweli, Teresita (Segundo) Cabotaje of the Philippines; son: Rudy (Alicia) Cablayan of Washington; sister: Eufracia Cablayan of the Philippines, two sister-in-laws: Anatalia Cabalayan of Honolulu, Maria Cablayan of the Philippines, 7 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. Private services were held.
Arrangements were handled by Borthwick Kauai Mortuary.
Rosalina Duarte
Rosalina Duarte of Kalaheo, died at Hale Kupuna Heritage Home on Feb. 10, 2003 at the age of 87.
Born in Puhi, Kaua’i on Mar. 26, 1915, she was a Homemaker.
She is preceded in death by husband, Caesar Duarte; daughter-in-law, Patricia Duarte; grandson, Darrick Duarte. She is survived by two sons, Donald (Betty) Duarte of Anahola, and Skippy Duarte of Kalaheo; three sisters, Gloria Perreira of Lihu’e, Julia Ferreira of Kalaheo, and Emily Lopez of California; 10 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren, 7 great-great-grandchildren; numerous uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Friends may visit with the family at 12 noon on Sat. Feb. 15, at the Holy Cross Catholic Church; service officiated by Father Keahi will begin at 1 p.m. Followed by burial at the Hanapepe Public Cemetery. Casual attire is suggested.
