The state Department of Transportation is advisn motorists that work is scheduled to begin this week on intersection improvements on Kuhio Hwy. at South Leho Drive.
Work includes widening the roadway; constructing left-turn storage lanes; realigning the existing cane haul road; removing existing guardrails and concrete curbs; installing new guardrails, concrete curbs, traffic signs and pavement markings; and relocating existing street lights.
During this project, one lane of traffic may be closed on Mondays through Fridays from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
The contractor for this $788,000 project is Koga Engineering & Construction, Inc.
