LIHUE – The team of Bret Netzer, Jon Furusho, Cory Oride and Kyle Wong took first place at the last KJGA Tournament of the year at the Puakea Golf Course in Lihue.
The winners combined for a 30 in the team scramble format. The event was a nine-hole, par-37 tourney – older juniors played off the blue tees, 13-14 from the white tees and 12-under from the red tees.
In second place with a 32 was the team of T.J. Kua, Grant Paiste, Kelan Adachi and Hoku Costa. The next four teams had 33s, but taking third was Jordon Cox, Keilen Shigematsu, Micah Yoshioka, and Troy Jacintho. In fourth was the team of Cory French, Jonathan Ganir, Alan Castillo and Markland Soliva. In fifth was Nikko Tasciat, Shea Shimabukuro, Claire Hirota. In sixth was Chad Nonaka, Wiley Yoshioka and Royce Ramos.
In seventh place with a 35 was Mike Garcia, Laakea Warren, Sean Callejo and Tyruss Lum. Also with a 35 and in eighth place was Travis Toguchi, Noel Torres, Rae-Lyn Morikawa and Kyle Groves. The third team with 35 was ninth – the team of Keoki Saiki, Miki Ueoka, Noa Matsuyoshi and Kelli Oride.
At 36 were two teams. In 10th was Brandon Hirota, Ryan Wong, Bubby Saiki, Levi Miyashiro. In 11th was Stephen Peeren, Byron Rualizo, Nathan Wong and Kaimana Jordan. In 12th, with a 37, was Maikai Laureta, Grant Kagawa, Kaimana Rivera and Malia Saiki.
