TV Juice Productions, a Kaua’i-based video production company, was recently chosen by Universal Pictures to be the EPK (electronic press kit) crew for Academy Award-winner Brian Grazer’s latest film, “Blue Crush.”
The stars of the film include Kaua’i native Sanoe Lake, as well as Kate Bosworth and Michelle Rodriguez. The feature, about young girls who work in hotels by night and surf by day, opens in theaters nationwide Friday, Aug. 16. The movie was filmed on O’ahu’s North Shore.
Behind-the-scenes footage shot by TV Juice is being aired on national programs including “Entertainment Tonight,” and “Hollywood Heatwave” on E!
TV Juice Productions, owned and operated by Tony and Susan LeHoven of Kilauea, was also the EPK crew for “Dragonfly,” starring Kevin Costner, and “Six Days/Seven Nights,” starring Harrison Ford and Anne Heche.
Both of those films were shot on Kaua’i.
Other current projects of TV Juice include production of an informational DVD about WorkWise!, a state Department of Labor and Industrial Relations program matching up employers with employees.
The DVD was recently presented to Kaua’i’s business community at three WorkWise! luncheons.
Also, TV Juice did the music and sound design for the County of Kauai Film Commission’s Internet flash piece. That is part of a Web site that won first place against all the cities, counties and regions that entered the Association of Film Commissioners International Marketing Awards Competition, held at the Locations Tradeshow in Los Angeles earlier this year.
