Jeffrey Mihara, Tani Waialeale Battad, Carmen Domingo, Santos Augusto

Jeffrey Mihara

Jeffrey “Jiggs” Wayne Mihara of Kalaheo, Kaua’i, died in Honolulu, on June 20, 2002 at the age of 46.

Born on May 24, 1956 in Lihu’e, Kaua’i, he was a welder.

He is survived by his father: Thomas Mihara of Kalaheo; mother: Julia “Kinny” Mihara of Kalaheo; two brothers: Steven Mihara of Kalaheo and Robert Mihara of Kalaheo; Fianc: Cindy Espirito of Hanama’ulu; 1 uncle, 2 aunties, and many cousins.

Friends may visit with the family on Saturday, June 29, 2002, at Holy Cross Church in Kalaheo from 9 a.m. – 10:45 a.m. where mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. by Father Keahi. Burial to follow at Holy Cross Church Cemetery. Casual attire is suggested.

Arrangements are being handled by Borthwick Kauai Mortuary.

Tani Waialeale Battad

Infant Tani Cienna Ka Makana Makamae Mai Ke Akua Mai i Loko O Ka Hawana Me Ka Olelo Pa’a Ma Ke Aloha (The Precious Gift From God That Came With a Whisper With Promises of Spiritual Greatness) Waialeale Battad of Wailua, Kaua’i, died June 21, 2002, at Kapi’olani Hospital.

Born on May 30, 2002, she is survived by her parents: Poki R. Battad and Jade Waialeale Battad of Wailua; two sisters: Tara Waialeale Rivera and Tori Waialeale Battad, both of Wailua; grandparents: Linda and Sonny Waialeale of Wailua; paternal grandfather: Anacleto Battad II of Utah; uncles: Troy (Nicole) Waialeale of Wailua, Dane Waialeale of Wailua, Cory (Melanie) Waialeale of Wailua, Kuhio (Michelle) Akana of O’ahu, and Joshua (Yuki) Akana of O’ahu; aunt: Tina (Elmer) Agres of Las Vegas and cousins: Tierny Waialeale and Teagan Waialeale, both of Wailua.

Public visitation will be Saturday, June 29, at Borthwick/Kaua’i Chapel in Koloa from 10 a.m. to noon with services to begin at noon. Announcement will be made at the service of the place where family and friends will gather following the service.

Casual attire is suggested. Arrangements are being handled by Borthwick/Kaua’i Mortuary.

Carmen Domingo

Carmen Parangan Domingo of Kilauea, died June 27, 2002, at her home at the age of 61.

A truck driver and guava sorter for Kilauea Agronomics, she ws born Oct. 18, 1940, on Kaua’i.

She is survived by her husband: Catalino Domingo Sr., children Lita Domingo, Catalino Domingo, Jr., Carlina Domingo, Stanley (Leslie) Domingo, Leane Domingo and Sheena Domingo; hanai daughter: Marlene Chun; one sister: Kainani Soares of Honolulu and one brother: Edwards (Vicky) Parangan of Arizona; five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, and aunts.

Visitation is scheduled for Tuesday, July 2, at St. Sylvester’s Catholic Church in Kilauea at 1 p.m. mass to be celebrated at 3 p.m. with cremation to follow.

Aloha attire is suggested. Arrangements are being handled by Borthwick/Kaua’i Mortuary.

Santos Augusto

Santos “Mickey” Augusto of Wailua, Kaua’i formerly of Kealia Camp, died at Mahelona Hospital, on April 25, 2002 at the age of 77.

Born in Hanama’ulu, Kaua’i, on Nov. 1, 1924, he was a laborer with the Lihue Plantation.

He is survived by his daughter: Alberta (William) Lanoza, Sr., son: Van Augusto; three step-sons; Carnel Macloves, Glen Augusto, Niel Agusto, sister-in-law: Mary Augusto; 2 granddaughters and 1 grandson numerous in-laws, nieces, nephews.

Friends may visit with the family on Tuesday, July 2, at St. Catherine’s Church in Kapa’a from 9 a.m. to 9:45 a.m. where mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Inurnment to follow at St. Catherine’s Church Cemetery. Casual attire is suggested.

Arrangements are being handled by Borthwick Kauai Mortuary.
