The Waimea Lakers, the Lihue Alii and the Westside Hornets each went home winners in KYBA basketball played at Kalaheo NC Gymnasium on Monday.
In the first game, a 10-under KYBA match-up, Bransen Agu scored 13 points to lead the Waimea Lakers to a 25-18 win over the Westside Riders. Ashten Agor led the Riders with eight points.
The next two games were Boys 12-under contests.
Justin Ramos scored 14 points to lead the Lihue Alii to a 45-22 win over the Kalaheo Pistons. Devin Tavana scored eight points for the Pistons.
And in the final game at Kalaheo, Kyle Achuela scored 11 points to lead the Westside Hornets to a 27-18 win over the Kapa’a Warriors. Devin Saiki led the Warriors with seven points.
In games played Friday in Kalaheo, the Westside Hornets Under 12 Boys team topped the Kalaheo Pistons 34-24.
Vincent Geronimo led the Hornets with 13 points. Cody Mierta scored six points for the Pistons.
In the second game, a Girls 14-under contest, the Kauai Fire Raiders topped the Westside Hornets 2717 on eight Allison Arakaki points. Tehane Andaya scored five points for the Hornets.
The final two games were Boys 14-under basketball.
The Westside Hornets topped Lihue 2-0 in the third game. And in the last game, Ceston Balaan and Futi Tavana combined for 16 points to lead the Kalaheo Pistons to a 38-26 win over the Lihue Magic. Kaleo Perez, Brendan Young and Irah Niohi each scored six points for the Magic.
