Infant Tani Cienna Ka Makana Makamae Mai Ke Akua Mai i Loko O Ka Hawana Me Ka Olelo Pa’a Ma Ke Aloha (The Precious Gift From God That Came With a Whisper With Promises of Spiritual Greatness) Waialeale Battad of Wailua, Kaua’i, died June 21, 2002, at Kapi’olani Hospital.
Born on May 30, 2002, she is survived by her parents: Poki R. Battad and Jade Waialeale Battad of Wailua; two sisters: Tara Waialeale Rivera and Tori Waialeale Battad, both of Wailua; grandparents: Linda and Sonny Waialeale of Wailua; paternal grandfather: Anacleto Battad II of Utah; uncles: Troy (Nicole) Waialeale of Wailua, Dane Waialeale of Wailua, Cory (Melanie) Waialeale of Wailua, Kuhio (Michelle) Akana of O’ahu, and Joshua (Yuki) Akana of O’ahu; aunt: Tina (Elmer) Agres of Las Vegas and cousins: Tierny Waialeale and Teagan Waialeale, both of Wailua.
Public visitation will be Saturday, June 29, at Borthwick/Kaua’i Chapel in Koloa from 10 a.m. to noon with services to begin at noon. Announcement will be made at the service of the place where family and friends will gather following the service.
Casual attire is suggested. Arrangements are being handled by Borthwick/Kaua’i Mortuary.
Naoko Murata
Naoko Morihara Murata of Kapa’a, Kaua’i, died at Wilcox Memorial Hospital on June 19, 2002 at the age of 92.
Born in Hiroshima, Japan on Nov. 23, 1906, she was a retired Seamstress.
She is survived by two sons, Ray (Michiko) Murata of Kapa’a, Kaua’i and James (Edith) Murata of Gardena, CA; four daughters, Doris (Herbert) Yamaguchi of Pearl City, O’ahu, Betty (Tats) Takata of Waipahu, O’ahu, Amy Murata and June (Ernest) Kimura of Waipahu, O’ahu; two sisters, Masue McCord of Pearl City, O’ahu and Kazuyo Takata of Honolulu, O’ahu; 17 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.
Private services were held.
Arrangements were handled by Garden Island Mortuary, Ltd.
Keizo Kashiwabara
Keizo Kashiwabara of Lihu’e, Kaua’i, died at Wilcox Mememorial Hospital on June 23, 2002 at the age of 86.
A County Worker for the County of Kaua’i, he was born on April 13, 1916.
He is survived by his wife, Ayako Kashiwabara; son, James (Peaches) Kashiwabara; two daughters, Kathleen Kashiwabara and Nancy (Charles) Toyama; brother, Satoshi Kashiwabara of Japan; sister, Betty Miwa of Hilo, Hawaii; 7 grandchildren; 1 great-grandchild.
Funeral service has been scheduled at 5 p.m. on Saturday, June 29, at the Lihue Baptist Church.
Arrangements are being handled by Garden Island Mortuary, Ltd.
JefferyMihara
Jeffery “Jiggs” Wayne Mihara of Kalaheo, Kaua’i, died in Honolulu, on June 20, 2002 at the age of 46.
Born on May 24, 1956 in Lihu’e, Kaua’i, he was a welder.
He is survived by his father: Thomas Mihara of Kalaheo; mother: Julie “Kinny” Mihara of Kalaheo; two brothers: Steven Mihara of Kalaheo and Robert Mihara of Kalaheo; Fianc: Cindy Espirito of Hanama’ulu; 1 uncle, 2 aunties, and many cousins.
Friends may visit with the family on Saturday, June 29, 2002, at Holy Cross Church in Kalaheo from 9 a.m. – 10:45 a.m. where mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. by Father Keahi. Burial to follow at Holy Cross Church Cemetery. Casual attire is suggested.
