A typical show of batting power and tight pitching throughout the season proved to be the combination that won this year’s West Kauai Mustang Division for the Koloa Braves.
The Braves topped the Kekaha Angels with the help of a four-run first inning, and one run in the third, fourth and fifth innings to nab the the championship on Saturday, May 25, at Waimea Canyon Park.
The steady bats of Branden Scovel, Taylor Pagador, and Trent Allianic (each batting 2-3) and the dynamic performance of Jordan Garcia, who went a perfect 3-3 at the plate, balanced the Koloa attack during the game, and throughout their winning season.
The Braves finished with a 13-2 record.
