The Garden Isle Racing Association held its third race of the 2002 season June 9th at Kauai Raceway Park.
Jim Rosa won his third straight victory by finishing first in the competition for Pro ET driving his 1968 big-block powered Chevrolet Camaro sponsored by Manny’s Repair.
Chris Loew finished second, driving his yellow 1969 Chevelle sponsored by Speedie Lube and Pennzoil Racing.
Riley Takayama drove his TST Performance Chevrolet Z28 to first place in the King Auto Center Super Street ET class, followed in second place by Rocky Ferraro in his Corvette.
Matt Pancho finished first in Street ET.
Twelve year old Calvin Costa, sponsored by D & W Services, won first place in Jr ET competition.
GIRA’s next race will be held Friday July 5th from 5pm to midnight and Saturday July 6th from noon to midnight and will include some of the fastest cars in the state of Hawaii.
