The Kalaheo Hot Sauce made certain the Goodwill Tourney was going to be theirs.
The Hot Sauce, coached by Steven Matsumoto, got a major boost from 25 Dennis Aukai points and 15 points from CJ Kaohelaulii to beat the Puuloa Bandits 55-33 in the championship game of the 16-under Boys Goodwill Basketball Tournament at the Kalaheo NC Gymnasium.
The Bandits, coached by Kenneth Tangjin, got 10 points from Ikaika Tripp, and six points apiece from Joshua Feliciano and Clinton Stevens.
Kalaheo handled Kaumakani 64-46 on Friday, and then beat the Piopio Bears 65-40 later in the evening. On Saturday, Kalaheo beat Hanapepe 55-33, and then won the championship with its win over the Bandits.
The Bandits took second and Hanapepe took third with its 57-55 win over Kaumakani. Coach Francis Kaohi got 28 points from Kawika Hepa, and eight points from Lanikai Kanahele.
Jeremy Manuel put up 25 points and Akeem Allen scored 15 for the Kaumakani.
