The Rookies are on top of the Senior Softball League with a perfect 3-0 in the second round.
They made it extra convincing in the last of a three-game series played at Waimea Ball Field, where they topped East Kauai 27-12.
Archie Fontanilla got the win in the high scoring bout, Walter Silva took the loss.
For the Rookies, Walter Souza, Stan Dela Cruz and Ichi Chiba all hit homeruns. Dickie Sialana went a perfect 4-4 at the plate, and Nellie Mendonca, Fontanilla and Chiba each notched three hits.
East Kauai’s Richard Kaui went 4-4 and Walter Silva had three hits.
The K-Makules took a 12-5 win over the Lihue “A”s in the first game at Waimea.
Dado Paiste picked up the win for the K-Makules, Buster Matsumura was the loser for the “A”s.
Big Bats for the K-Makules: Ernie Domingo had a home run on two hits, the Remata Boys “Lefty” and Doric had three hits a piece.
Only Tomo Hiranaka was able to pair hits for the Lihue “A”s.
West Kauai got two homers from Mike Foster, and each sending balls over the fence were were Boni Garma, Frank Bukoski, Pat Pavao, and in his first game, Ned Nitelowe.
Bob Merkel, Cassey Moniz and “Brudda” Ritt Miester. Frank Bukoski was the winning pitcher, Teddy Daligdig with the loss only Steve Fujii and Don Boro got 3 hits for Kawaihau. Final score West Kauai 24, Kawaihau 10.
The next games will be played on June 1st at Kapaa.
All games on the 25th of May moves to June 1st.
