Yin Yin Clothing Exchange, called by owners Coral Robinson and Pamela Salibi “a new and innovative consignment concept on Kaua’i,” opened recently on the second floor of the Kong Lung building in Kilauea.
The ladies accept merchandise by invitation only, providing exceptional profit to the consignors and a high level of quality and style to consumers, they feel.
“We believe that by treating consignors as equal partners, we can provide a more profitable outlet for gently used clothing and accessory pieces,” Robinson said.
The focus at the store is on unique, funky chic, and vintage clothing. Handmade and one-of-a-kind pieces are offered, from pillows to vintage handbags and yoga pants.
“We wanted to offer a place where women can recycle top-quality and designer clothing and accessories to others who appreciate it,” said Salibi. “We have something for just about every taste.”
The loft setting of Yin Yin offers a leather sofa for customers to lounge in while checking out the variety of new and vintage apparel, bags, shoes, lingerie and jewelry.
“We are really excited about the store and the concept,” said the women, who besides being business partners are mother-in-law and daughter-in-law. “And we welcome new and interesting items. We’re continuously building up our inventory, and it’s really fun to see some of the things that people bring in.”
The operators said their consignment shop is unique on Kaua’i in that it offers a 50-50 split on items sold.
Yin Yin Clothing Exchange is open seven days a week from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. For more information, please call 828-0345.
