Steve Zidek was recently promoted to director of finance, Pacific islands area, for Marriott International (NYSE: MAR).
The promotion to the new position gives him financial oversight for various Marriott and Renaissance properties in the state, including the Kaua’i Marriott Resort & Beach Club on Kalapaki Beach near Lihu’e Airport.
Based in Honolulu, Zidek has been with Marriott International for over 18 years, starting as a financial analyst at Marriott International’s corporate headquarters in Washington, D.C.
He later was named controller for Hartford Marriott Hotel, Boston Long Wharf Marriott, Marriott’s Tan-Tar-A Resort and Philadelphia Marriott Hotel. Zidek also served as assistant general manager and director of finance at JW Marriott Hong Kong before accepting the promotion to Hawai’i.
Now residing in Kailua on O’ahu with wife Julie and children James, Danielle and Michael, Zidek holds a bachelor’s degree in accounting from Pennsylvania State University.
