Help is on the way for Kaua’i farmers who have great abilities in the field but may lack the knowledge of farm finances necessary to run a successful operation.
Kauai Micro, in partnership with the Small Business Development Center Network Kaua’i office, Kauai Business Assistance Corporation, Kauai County Farm Bureau and the University of Hawaii College of Tropical Agriculture and Human Resources, will be offering a course, “Building a Farm Business Plan.”
The course will start this Saturday, March 23, and run from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. at Kaua’i Community College for 16 consecutive Saturday mornings.
The course will cover personal goal setting, overview of a farm business plan, production calendar, cost of production, marketing strategy, financial management, and personnel and management.
