Thirty-one players turned out for the 14th Annual Dora Wallis Memorial Tournament at Wailua Golf Course on Saturday, January 23. The Tourney champions with the low net of 71 (101-30-71) was Mildred Konishi, who also won this tournament in 1999.

Tied for second with net scores of 73 were Linda Uohara (92-19-73) and Shirley Akita (102-29-73). Cards were matched to decide the tie and Uohara came out on top for second place honors with Akita placing third.
Macy’s gift certificates were presented to all the winners.
The Closest-to-the-Pin contest on the Par 3, 17th hole was won by Uohara, whose ball landed a very short nine inches from the cup. Also placing for prises were Atsuko Yasuno, Joy Gallagher and Carol Wells.
The awards lunch was held following golf at the Wailua Golf Course restaurant. All players asked the Kaua’i Women’s Golf Club to send their thanks for the continued sponsorship of this tournament by Dora Willis’ close friend, Mrs. Herbert Randall, who resides in Ohio.
