The walls have come tumbling down, at least several interior ones, at the old Jack Wada Electronics building on ‘Umi Street in Lihu’e.
That’s because the new tenant, Aloha Furniture Warehouse, has converted the inside of the store into two huge showrooms on two floors, with over 10,000 square feet of retail space.
“People will not recognize the store now,” said Kerry Blaine, owner of Aloha Furniture Warehouse.
The new store moved from its former Rice Street location, and Jack Wada Electronics is now in the Lihu’e Industrial Park first phase.
At the new ‘Umi Street home of Aloha Furniture Warehouse, over 150 feet of interior walls were removed, with new paint and carpeting completing the massive renovation.
The lower level acts as the warehouse for new shipments, and houses the store’s complete upholstery shop.
This is grand opening month at the store, with everything in the store on sale all February, and a grand opening celebration this Saturday, Feb. 23, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
During the grand-opening celebration Saturday, there will be a live radio broadcast, chance to win $100,000, drawing for a free King Koil latex mattress set (a $2,000 value), and other prizes to be given away.
Aloha Furniture Warehouse was named dealer of the year in Hawai’i for 2001 by King Koil, the world’s sixth-largest mattress manufacturer.
Established in 1992, Aloha Furniture Warehouse has the largest selection of quality tropical furniture on Kaua’i, at very affordable prices, Blaine said.
“We do this by importing directly from our favorite factories in Asia. Long-term and personal relationships with the factory owners assure a consistent, high-quality supply of teak from Indonesia, wicker and antiques from China, and rattan and bamboo from the Philippines,” he said.
“We also have our own in-house upholsterer, with 37 years of experience. This enables Aloha Furniture Warehouse to offer high-quality, custom upholstery on our furniture completed in days instead of eight to 10 weeks or more for orders from the mainland,” Blaine continued.
“Add to this our friendly sales staff, free delivery, free set up, and free removal of your old furniture, and you can see how Aloha Furniture Warehouse has been ‘furnishing you with aloha,’ ” he noted.
Free shipping to other islands is offered with minimum purchases.
The store is open 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. every day but Sunday. For more information, please call 246-4833, fax 246-4565, e-mail info@alohafurniture.com, or see the Web site, www.alohafurniture.com.
