PSA for “Rally for a Cure”
The third Rally for a Cure Golf Tournament, sponsored by Kaua’i Women’s Golf Club, will be held on Saturday, March 30, at Puakea Golf Course.
The format is a two-lady team, one best ball, with play limited to the first 38 teams of 76 players.
Registration starts at 7:15 a.m. with a shotgun start at 8:30 a.m. Forms for registration are available at Princeville Makai, Puakea and Wailua Golf Courses. At Wailua, the forms will be on the main bulletin board across from ladies’ locker room.
A closest-to-the-pin contest will be held on the 8th hole.
The cost is $48 per person – one $15 check payable to Rally for a Cure, and a separate $33 check payable to Puakea Golf Course for green fees and luncheon. Funds raised will benefit the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation.
ALa Lani Spa & Tennis news
The Ala Lani Spa and Tennis Club (at the Kaua’i Lagoons resort) and the Kaua’i District of the Hawaii Pacific United States Tennis Association, hosted a tennis Fun Day on Sunday, January 13.
One hundred players from around the island gathered for a day of tennis at the newly opened tennis club.
Eric Lutz, Kaua’i’s National Tennis Rating Program Representative, and Tom Roerk, Head NRTP Verifier from Honolulu, held a rating clinic for 20 people to prepare for the 50+ and Mixed Tennis Leagues beginning in February.

2002 Might Mite, Termite and Extreme Termite basketball
The Boys and Girls Club of Hawaii – Kapa’a Clubhouse – will begin registration for the Mighty Mites (Grades K and 1st), Termites (Grades 2nd and 3rd) and Extreme Termites (Grades 4th and 5th) basketball leagues starting Monday, January 28.
Leagues are open to both boys and girls, and the deadline to turn in all forms is Thursday, February 14.
Registration forms are available at the Boys and Girls Clubhouses in both Kapa’a and Waimea, and your local Neighborhood Center.

Starlings Volleyball
The Boys and Girls Club of Hawaii – Kapa’a Clubhouse – will be starting registration for the Starlings Volleyball Leagues beginning Friday, January 26, and ending Tuesday, February 5.
The leagues are for kids ages 9-16. Registration forms are available at the Boys and Girls Clubhouses in Kapa’a.
