Edward Ebinger, Sr.
Edward “Eddie” Ebinger Sr., of Pukalani, Maui, died on Nov. 28, 2001 at the age of 87.
Born in Kapa’a, Kaua’i, on Feb. 15, 1914. Mr. Ebinger was a member of Holy Name Society of St. Catherine’s Church.
He is survived by his son: Robert (Chris) Ebinger of Sussex, England; daughter: Laverne Teves of Pukalani, Maui; brother: Eugene Ebinger of California; sister: Bernice Ebinger of Honolulu, O’ahu; 5 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren.
Friends may visit with the family on Monday, Dec. 10, at St. Catherine’s Church in Kapa’a. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. – 11 a.m. with Mass at 11 a.m. Burial to follow at the Church Cemetery.
Thomas Seguirant, Sr.
Thomas Daniel Deguirant, Sr., of Pahoa died on Thursday, Nov. 29, at the Hilo Medical Center at the age of 81.
Born on Dec. 21, 1919, he was a retired Battalion Fire Chief of Honolulu with the Aikahi Station. He was a member of the Young Men Institute.
He is survived by his wife, Gladys Seguirant from Pahoa, his two sons, Thomas Saguirant, Jr. of Mililani, Oahu, and Patrick (Corinne) Seguirant of Ewa Beach, Oahu, two daughters: Deborah Cain of Killeen, Texas and Cherie (Romulo) Salmo of Mililani, Oahu. two sisters: Catherine Staples of Oregon and Frances Nobriga of California, three brothers: Henry de Seguirant of Kailua, Oahu; Justin Seguirant of Honolulu and Reginald Seguirant of California, 9 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren.
Friends may visit with the family on Friday, Dec. 7, 10 a.m. at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Pahoa from 9 a.m. – 10 a.m. Services in Honolulu will be on Wednesday, Dec. 12, at 7 p.m. at the Borthwick Mortuary at 1333 Mauna Kea St., with visitation from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Casual attire is suggested.
Arrangements are being handled by Borthwick Hawaii Funeral Home.
Bonnie Penaroza
Bonnie “Nani” Naiwaialeale Penaroza of Honolulu, HI, died Dec. 3, 2001, at the age of 62.
Born in Waimea, Kaua’i, she was a retired sales clerk.
She is survived by her husband, Nickey W. Penaroza Jr.; daughter, Sueyen N. (William) Ortiz; son, Nick T. Penaroza; mother, Florence Kajiwara; brother Kenneth N. Blackstad; sisters, Siebel W. Sheldon and Paulette (Charles) Akana; nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 11, at Borthwick/Kaua’i Mortuary with services at 11 a.m. followed by burial at Kekaha Hawaiian Cemetery at 1 p.m.
