Tamotsu Nagato
Tamotsu Nagato of Lihu’e, Kaua’i, formerly of Lawa’i, Kaua’i, died at Wilcox Memorial Hospital on Nov. 25, 2001, at the age of 77.
Born in Hanapepe, Kaua’i on July 14, 1924, he was a retired maintenance man with Sheraton Kauai at Po’ipu; he is survived by wife: Alice Tomita Nagato of Lihu’e, Kaua’i; brothers, Tokuichi (Betty) Nagato of Honolulu, O’ahu, Muneo Nagato of Kalaheo, Kaua’i, Megumi Nagato of ‘Oma’o, Kaua’i and Ichio (Katherine) Nagato of Lihu’e, Kaua’i; sisters, Yuriye (Alan) Yokoyama of Lihu’e, Kaua’i and Shizue (Masa) Yoshimoto of Pearl City, O’ahu; one uncle and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Private service will be held on Saturday, Dec. 1st, at Garden Island Mortuary at 11 a.m. Arrangements are being handled by Garden Island Mortuary, Ltd.

Frank Gilbert Machado of Kapa’a, died at Wilcox Memorial Hospital on Nov. 24, 2001, at the age of 90.
A locomotive engineer with Lihu’e Plantation, he was born in Kealia, Kaua’i on March 6, 1911.
He is survived by sisters: Agnes Vasques of Oregon, Gussie Louis of Omao and Margaret (Louis) Victorino, and daughters: Beatrice Dias of Honolulu, Josephine Ornellas of Kaua’i and Eleanor (John) Garcia of Kapa’a.
There are 11 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren, 6 great-great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be on Monday, Dec. 3, at Borthwick Kaua’i Mortuary Chapel in Koloa from 10 a.m. Services will be celebrated at 11 a.m. by Father Coyle. Burial will follow at St. Catherine’s Cemetery in Kealia.
Casual attire is suggested. Arrangements by Borthwick Mortuary.
