Both Kaua’i girl’s and boy’s teams took ninth at the Sam Choy High School State Bowling Championships last Thursday and Friday at Leeward Bowl in Oahu.
The Boy’s team scored 7,803 in total pins while the girls notched a 6,567.
Pearl City won both boys and girls competitionis-the boys with a score of 8,777; the girls knocking down 7,995.
HBA, Maryknoll, Kalani and Waialea rounded up the top five for girl’s team results. Aiea Kalani, Kailua and HBA made up the top five teams for the boy’s.
The top bowlers for the Red Raider boys were Bryson Koerte at 19th, with a score of 1,766. Waimea’s John Mission came in 43rd with a 1,648. Red Raider Jon-Peter Sit was 57th with 1,578, and Donovan Pegeder came in 69th with 1,528.
The top boys bowler was Ryan Chang of Pearl City, who scored 1,947.
