Gasoline prices on Kaua’i , by local dealer and U.S. Department of Energy estimations, have continued falling slightly this fall. Here’s a look at some prices on the island earlier this week, in spring this year, and in early February of last year at select Lihu’e locations (prices are per gallon, regular gasoline):
– Paradise Service in Lihu’e: $1.97 on Nov. 9, $2.07 on May 10, $1.71 on Feb. 8.
– Lihu’e Shell: $1.96 on Nov. 9, $2.06 on May 10, $1.71 on Feb. 8.
– Gary’s Service: $1.97 on Nov. 9, $2.07 on May 10, $1.71 on Feb. 8.
The U.S. average price for a gallon of self-serve, unleaded regular gasoline was $1.47 in February of last year, $1.76 in May of this year, and $1.24 this week, according to local dealers, the Lundberg Survey of gas stations nationally, and the Associated Press.
