Jose DePeralta Saraos of Kaumakani, Kaua’i, died Sept. 25, 2001, at ‘Oma’o Nursing Home at the age of 90.
A truck driver with Olokele Sugar for 35 years, he was born Dec. 4, 1910, in the Philippines.
He is survived by three sons: Clarence (Sally) Saraos of California, Stanley (Rebecca) Saraos of Lihu’e, and Allen (Rosemary) Saraos of Waipahu; one daughter: Eileen (Leo) Rodrigues of Waipahu; 15 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Visitation is scheduled for Saturday, Oct. 6, at Borthwick/Kaua’i Mortuary Chapel from 9 a.m. Services will be celebrated at 10 a.m. by Pastor Phil Marocco. Burial to follow at the Hanapepe Public Cemetery.
Casual attire is suggested. Arrangements are being handled by Borthwick/Kaua’i Mortuary.

Leonora Magno of ‘Ele’ele, Kaua’i, died Oct. 2, 2001, at Queen’s Medical Center in Honolulu.
A homemaker, she was born Aug. 23, 1919, in Pahoa, HI.
She is survived by one daughter, Rose Marie Johnston of Waimea; son, Andrew Belleza of California; sisters, Rosaline “Rose” Vertido Fermahin, Florida Vertido; brothers, Adelino R. “Blackie” Vertido, Antonio “Tony” Vertido, Segundo “Jr.” Vertido; three grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
Memorial visitation will be from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 7, at Borthwick Mortuary in Honolulu with service at 2 p.m. Visitation will also be Wednesday, Oct. 10, from 6 to 9 p.m. at Holy Cross Church in Kalaheo; service to begin at 7 p.m. Private inurnment will be at St. John’s Episcopal Church on Kaua’i at a later date.
