Kaua’i County Police are seeking help in recapturing Ronald “Inat” Finney, who got away from them after being arrested on suspicion of theft-related crimes.
Finney, 23, who police said is unemployed, is described as 5 feet 7 inches tall, thin and black.
His last known address was 4805 Iiwi Road in Kapa’a, according to police.
He is sought on five criminal counts.
On June 26, at approximately 8 a.m., Finney was arrested at the Iiwi Road address on a felony warrant for felony burglary, felony theft and two counts of criminal property damage. He was transported to Lihu’e for booking.
On arrival at the main police station, Finney opened the back door of the police vehicle he was riding in and ran away.
Authorities said he ran behind the main police station, through the Lihue baseball park, across Rice Street, and then behind Lihu’e Lanes, where he disappeared from view.
Police asked anyone with information about Finney’s whereabouts to call detective Glenn Morita at 241-6701 or Kaua’i Crimestoppers at 241-6787.
All calls will be kept confidential, authorities said.
