Public TV boss is Chamber speaker

Gibson heads up PBRA board now
Jerry Gibson, general manager of the Hyatt Regency Kaua’i Resort & Spa at Po’ipu, was elected president of the Po’ipu Beach Resort Association (PBRA), at its board meeting this month. He replaces Henry Perez, general manager of Lawa’i Beach Resort.
Vice president is Greg Kamm of Greg Kamm Planning and Management. Lyle Otsuka, general manager of Embassy Vacation Resort Po’ipu Point, is secretary, and continuing as treasurer is Dale Verkaaik of Aston Po’ipu Kai.
Warner Brothers is filming here now
A film crew from Warner Brothers is staying at the Sheraton Kaua’i Resort at Po’ipu Beach, while it films certain scenes for a new reality/adventure series for television, tentatively titled “Eliminidate.”
Hawaiian tells of Seattle-Maui flight
Beginning in February of next year, Hawaiian Airlines will be offering the only daily nonstop flight between Kahului, Maui and Seattle. Maui is one of the most popular Hawaiian destinations for passengers flying out of Seattle, according to Hawaiian Airlines Vice Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Paul J. Casey.

Matson CFO Donohue to retire this month
Raymond J. Donohue, Matson Navigation Company senior vice president and chief financial officer, will retire from the company at the end of this month after 40 years in West Coast shipping and over 20 years with Matson. He has been Matson’s CFO since joining the company in 1980. Matson is a wholly owned subsidiary of Alexander & Baldwin, Inc. of Honolulu (NASDAQ: ALEX).
