Gladys Nellie Opuulani Olsen of Hanama’ulu, Kaua’i, died April 25, 2001 at Wilcox Memorial Hospital, at the age of 75.
Born April 28, 1925 at Huliia, Kaua’i, she was a homemaker.
She is survived by her five daughters: Pat (Frank) Farias; Daphne (Reinhold) Cremer; Celeste (Antone) Farias; Alanna (Crisanto) Agustin; Valerie (Timmy) Santos; two sisters: Edna Duarte of California; Dixie (Torao) Kashima of Lihu’e; one brother: Samuel (Joanne) Akui Napoleon of Honolulu, 22 grandchildren, 37 great-grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Friends may visit with the family on Thursday, May 3, at Borthwick Kaua’i Mortuary Chapel in Koloa from 9 a.m. – 10:45 a.m. where services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Burial to follow at Lihu’e Public Cemetery.
Casual attire is suggested. Arrangements are being handled by Borthwick Kaua’i Mortuary.
Helen Beyenka
Helen Beyenka, 82, of Fayetteville, died April 23, 2001 at her home. She was born August 16, 1918 at Brea, California, the daughter of Leo and Ruth Babbit Goss.
She was a homemaker. She was a member of the AARP, Order of the Amaranth, League of Women Voters and the American Legion Auxiliary. She was a past Worthy Grand Matron of the Maratha Chapter of the Eastern Star, past president of the Benton County Republican Women’s Club and was a member of the Christian Science church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Frank Beyenka.
She is survived by two daughters; Dr. Ann Beyenka Dubes of Fayetteville; Helen Beyenka Cathcart of Fairfax, Virginia; three sons: Francis Beyenka of Fayetteville; Jim Beyenka of the home; John Beyenka of Henderson, Nevada, 4 grandchildren, 3 great grand-children.
Cremation was by Moore’s Chapel. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to: Friends of Hospice #34 Colt Square, Suite 1, Fayetteville, AR 72703.
Rachel Bolt
Rachel Lahela Kekoa Bolt of Nanakuli, Hawaii, died on April 28, 2001 at the age of 77.
Born in Kakaako, O’ahu. Mrs. Bold was a housewife and a member of the Paradise Chapel in Maili.
She is survived by her son; Charles Harmon Bolt; 7 daughters: Virginia Bolt-Cordeiro; Merriam Bolt; Margaret (John) Kim; Rachel (Merle) Bolt-Painter; Marylei (George) Silva; Rosaline Gairy; Helen Bolt, 31 grandchildren, 43 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great grandchildren.
Friends may visit with the family on Friday, May 4, 6 p.m. at Mililani Mortuary Makai Chapel. Funeral service 7 p.m. Burial 9 a.m. Saturday, May 5, at Mililani Memorial Park.

Yoshie Maruta
Yoshie Ito Maruta, of Kilauea, Kaua’i, died at Wilcox Memorial Hospital on April 27, 2001, at the age of 86.
Born in Kealia, Kaua’i on Nov. 12, 1914, she was a retired Housekeeper with Hanalei Plantation;.
She is survived by: her husband: Masami Maruta of Kilauea, Kaua’i; two sons: Edward Maruta of Kilauea, Kaua’i and Clyde Maruta of O’ahu; three daughters: Madelene (Ben) NaLanagan, Sr. of O’ahu, Bernice (Michael) Lin of California and Marlene Kasuoka of O’ahul 17 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; two brothers: Sunao (Elaine) Ito of O’ahu and Tetsuo (Miyori) Ito of California; three sisters: Fusae Ohara of Kapaa, Kaua’i, Yayoi (Hisao) Mizumura of Hanamaulu, Kaua’i, and Lorraine Wagoner of Texas; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
