Mokihana Aquatics has been forced to suspend swimming practice indefinitley due to the ongoing strike between public school teachers and the state of Hawai’i.
The strike has kept chemicals from being delivered to the Kaua’i High School pool. Thus, aquatic activity will not resume until the strike has ended. Call head coach Orlando Anaya at 821-0587 for more information.
Age group track meet meeting
The County of Kaua’i Parks & Recreation Division will be holding a meeting for all coaches involved in the upcoming age group track meet(s). The meeting will be held Tuesday, April 24, at the Moikeha Building, conference room 2A. It will start promptly at 6 p.m.

Nominate someone to carry Olympic Flame
As the official co-presenter of the 2002 Olympic Torch Relay, Chevrolet is currently searching for inspirational Americans across the country to carry the Olympic Flame. For the next 11 days, until April 30, people will have the opportunity to nominate those they deem inspirational to run with the Flame.

The 2002 Olympic Torch Relay route will crisscross the United States beginning Decebmer 4, 2001, and will travel more than 13,500 miles in 65 days through 46 states. Chevy will select approximately 3,000 torchbearers, each of whom will carry the Flame .2 miles.
