Ellen Chow De Corte died at Queen’s Hospital on Feb. 12, 2001, at the age of 80.
Born in Niumalu, Kaua’i, she is survived by sons, Milton Gainey of Honolulu and Clayton (Susan) De Corte of Honolulu; daughters: Ellen (Joshua) Bridges of California and Joycelyn De Corte of California; brothers: Aki (Liz) Chow of Pearl City, O’ahu; Richard (Kuki) Chow of Puhi; Kenneth (Martha) Chow of Wailua, and Raymond (Muriel) Chow of Lihu’e; sisters Dorothy G.. Huddy of Kapa’a and Gladys Davis of North Carolina; sister-in-law Maise Chow of Lihu’e; 12 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren, many niece,s nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.
Services will be conducted by Father Jack at Mililani Mauka on Tuesday, Feb. 20, with family viewing from 9 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. and general viewing from 9;30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Services will be held from 11:30 to 12:30 with burial at 12:30 p.m. Casual attire is suggested.
Theresa Lopes
Theresa Emily Lopes AKA Theresa King and Theresa Pikini, died Feb. 10, 2001, at Wilcox Memorial Hospital, at the age of 71.
A homemaker, she was born Nov. 13, 1929, on O’ahu.
She is survived by two sons: Nathan (Tina) Pikini, Sr. and David Lopes, both of Lihu’e; two daughters: Ranei (Duane) Alvarez of O’ahu and Allison (Julian) Davis of Hanama’ulu; 12 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; two brothers: Clinton (Irene) Lee and Grover Lee, both of O’ahu; three sisters: Hilda Fu of O’ahu, Winifred De Motta of Washington and Ethel (Mitchel) Keawe of O’ahu; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Services have been scheduled for Saturday, Feb. 24, at the Kapa’a Missionary Church at 4 p.m.
Casual attire is suggested. Arrangements are being handled by Borthwick/Kaua’i Mortuary.
James Spencer
James Robert Spencer of Anahola, Kaua’i, died Feb. 9, 2001, at his home at the age of 86.
Born April 24, 1914, he was a retired air transportation engineer and also served in the U.S. Army.
He is survived by his primary caregiver: May Orlando of Anahola; two nephews: James (T. (Linda) Finn and Bill (Shirley) Finn, both of Illinois; and one niece: Susan M. (Frank R.) Stone III of Illinois.
Services have been scheduled for Saturday, Feb. 17, at the Kaua’i Veterans Cemetery in Hanapepe at 10 a.m.
Casual attire is suggested. Arrangements are being handled by Borthwick/Kaua’i Mortuary.
