Midget and pee wee squads register shut outs

In the final games of the Pop Warner season,
Kaua’i’s second place finishers in all three divisions — junior pee wee, pee
wee and midget — played host to Makaha Aliis. All games took place Friday,
Nov. 24 at Vidinha Stadium.
Overall, Kaua’i got the best of the visitors.
The pee wee and midget representatives, the Koloa Rams and Lihu’e Patriots
respectively, shut out Makaha. The Aliis returned the favor in the junior pee
wee ranks.
Midgets

This
contest never was in doubt. Lihu’e’s Westin Victorino wasted no time getting
his team on the board. He took the opening kickoff 80 yards for the score.
Lance Okasaki found Alan Satta for the successful extra point.
Three
minutes later, the Patriots were in the end zone again, this time on the
strength of a 20-yard dash from Kevin Cadiente.
In the second quarter,
Kekoa Crowell found the end zone from five yards out for another score. Okasaki
again found Satta for the extra point and Lihu’e took a 20-0 lead.
Cadiente
and Victorino continued their dominance after the intermission.
The former
rushed for identical 35-yard scores in the third quarter. Meanwhile, the latter
found the end zone from 47 yards out in the fourth quarter to leave the final
score 40-0.

Makaha Ali’is 0
Watch the
name Alan Kalili as time goes on. The Koloa player uncorked a monster day to
lead his team to an easy victory.
Kalili scored on a five-yard burst into
the end zone midway through the first quarter. In the third quarter, he ran for
two scores — of 20 and 47 yards respectively — and was successful on both
extra points.
Kaeo Dias was the only other Ram allowed into the scoring
fray. He plunged in from one yard out early in the second quarter.

Despite giving it their all,
Koloa could not manage to stick one in the end zone against Makaha.
Kyle
Lindsey scored three times for the visitors, including one on a 72-yard run
from scrimmage.

Lihu’e came out firing from the get
go, scoring all of its 39 points in the first half.
Stanton Yoshimori found
the end zone first, scrambling in from 37 yards out midway through the opening
quarter. Micah Waiamau connected on the extra point. Yoshimori scored his
second touchdown of the day at the 3:41 mark of the second quarter. He
intercepted a pass and weaved 47 yards to the end zone.
In between
Yoshimori’s bookend scores, Lucky Andres hit paydirt twice. He found the end
zone on runs of 24 and 28 yards to boost the Dolphins’ lead.
Travis
Nakamura scored Lihu’e’s only other touchdown, on a 35-yard run midway through
the second quarter.
Waiamau connected on three additional extra points.
Brendon Young also got one.
