The Kaua’i High School varsity soccer team got its season off to a solid start
with a 1-0 victory over visiting Kaiser High School Friday night at Hanapepe
Stadium.
Off and on rain made for slippery conditions, and defense led to a
scoreless first half. But in the second half, the Red Raiders opened things up
to create more scoring chances. Cole Brandeburg scored the game’s only goal —
on a cross from Jacob Menei — to give Kaua’i the win.
Kaiser played Waimea
on Saturday and Kapa’a on Sunday. Results are forthcoming.
Kaua’i, Waimea
and Island School will play Roosevelt next weekend.
