fully accredited, co-educational, college preparatory school for grades 7-12.
We beg to differ!
Island School is fully accredited-for a six-year term,
the longest granted by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC).
Further, we graduated 18 students this past June, 2000. These students are
attending schools from the East Coast to the West and in Hawaii, from Babson
(in Boston) and Ithica (in New York) to Stanford and the University of the
Pacific (in California), and Chaminade (in Hawaii), for examples.
Acceptances came from Yale and Georgetown, from Purdue and Creighton, from
Pomona and the Universities of San Diego, Nevada, Idaho, and Oregon. Sixteen of
eighteen of Island School’s graduates are currently enrolled in college. And we
have another group of seniors on the way!
Island School has been in
existence since 1977, the longest of the independent schools on the island of
Kauai. Further, with an enrollment of 223 students, it is the largest
independent school on Kauai. Grades run from pre-kindergarten through twelfth.
In academics, students rank in the top quartile of students across the nation.
Also, there is a full range of activities, from athletics to the arts.
We
thought you might want to help us set the record straight.
