This summer “my babies” turned 9 years old. Two kitties that I discovered along
with their mom and 2 siblings in the Po’ipu area back in 1991.
I have fond
memories of our groundskeeper. Larry Borgatti, who went the extra mile for me
to feed and water the whole family until I could come back in a couple of
months and attempt to trap them.
I will always be grateful to Sherry Hoe,
who housed them for me at the Kauai Humane Society, hoping that someone on
island would want to adopt and make a home for them.
Fortunately that never
happened for my two and consequently they came home with me to join our family
in Oregon.
And of course, I can never forget the help and encouragement Dr.
Patrick Ahana and his caring staff at Kapaa Animal Clinic gave to me.
Today
“my babies” and our other 3 felines are healthy, happy, indoor kitties who are
loved beyond words.
Mahalo, Mahalo to Sherry Hoe. And also to the staff at
The Kauai Humane Society, people who truly care for our animal friends on
beautiful Kauai.
I would also like to add that I am a supporter and
participant in the Aloha Escort Program to locate homeless Kaua’i dogs to the
mainland for adoption. I do hope this program continues.
Looking forward to
the day the new shelter is ready for occupancy.
