The Mokihana Aquatic Club will send two swimmers to the First Annual Bill Smith
Invitational this weekend, October 21 and 22, in Honolulu.
The
participating swimmers are Roxanne DuBois, who will compete in the 50- and
100-meter freestyle and backstroke in the 11-12 year-old age bracket, and
Keenan Anaya, who will swim the 50 and 100 freestyle and butterfly, as well as
the 200-meter individual medley and 50-meter backstroke. He also swims in the
11-12 year-old age group.
Each swimmer had to qualify in order to advance
to the invitational. It is the first invitational that Mokihana has been to in
10 years, and, according to head coach Orlando Anaya, represents the true
return of the program to some degree of prominence.
